Anjunabeats Volume 9
(Anjunabeats / November 13th)
Pre-order CDiTunes

Above & Beyond’s 2011 has been all about one thing – landmarks. In January they celebrated 10 years of their ever-growing Anjunabeats label, before March’s 200th single release on the imprint; the genre defying anthem and Beatport #1 hit “Rebound” by Arty & Mat Zo.

In April, Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki then embarked on their biggest ever tour of the US with a road blocked 22-date stretch, including two sold out shows at LA’s legendary Hollywood Palladium, with the first selling out in just 90 minutes - a new record for the legendary venue.

After seeing their “Sun & Moon” anthem playlisted by BBC Radio 1 and reach the top 15 of the Billboard Dance Charts in the US, the trio were ready to unleash their second artist album – Group Therapy. Earning them a cover star interview with DJ Magazine and described as “stadium dance with an incredibly personal feel” and “artist album of the year” in a Mixmag review, the string-laden album has been praised by critics and fans alike as a masterpiece in emotive, song-based electronic music.

In such a fast moving year, it seems fitting to close on a familiar totem pole in Above & Beyond’s annual calendar; their Anjunabeats Volume series. Capturing the sound of a label that has dominated Beatport charts and been supported this year by DJs as diverse as The Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and David Guetta, Anjunabeats Volume 9 offers 2xCDs of predominantly unreleased, exclusive tracks from artists like Arty, Mat Zo, Super8 & Tab, Andrew Bayer, Jaytech, Maor Levi and Above & Beyond themselves.

Modern, melodic and emotive, Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats sound remains unrestricted from one-dimensional genre restrictions. From the reflective, filmic pianos of Above & Beyond’s own unreleased “Tokyo” through hypnotic progressive sounds like Jaytech’s “Overdrive” to the synth-frenzy of Nitrous Oxide’s “iPeople” and the explosive funk-charged house fusion of Mat Zo and Arty’s brand new collaboration “Mozart”, Anjunabeats Volume 9 captures the full emotional intensity of the Above & Beyond DJ experience.

Also including Above & Beyond’s futuristic electro-edged anthem “Formula Rossa”, Anjunabeats Volume 9 covers the work of over 20 artists – a testament to the vibrant, tightly bound label family that Anjunabeats has evolved into.

Above & Beyond will be broadcasting the 400th episode of their Trance Around The World radio show via a special live eight hour broadcast from Beirut, Lebanon on 26th November - with guests Gareth Emery, Kyau & Albert, Mat Zo and Jaytech. For full info check out tatw400.com

November 3 Blake Jarrell
November 10 ATB
November 17 A-Trak

Thursday, November 3rd – Blake Jarrell
Rising superstar and New Orleans native Blake Jarrell began his introduction into house music at the young age of 15. After receiving a full scholarship to Loyola University New Orleans' College of Music Business he moved to Chicago to further immerse himself in his passion. Blake's chance encounter with perennial top DJ, and mentor, Armin van Buuren offered him an opportunity to join Armada's respected roster. He has since traveled to over 50 countries and 100 cities and his music has received support from such acts as Markus Schulz, Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong, Gareth Emery, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold and, of course, Armin van Buuren. His residencies at Amnesia and Space in Ibiza soon grew to include residencies at Marquee in Las Vegas and Circus in Montreal. His hard work, dedication, and respect for the art are clearly shown in his mastered productions and live sets. Be sure to tune into Blake Jarrell's monthly podcast "Concentrate.”

Thursday November 10th - ATB
ATB, born Andre Tanneberger, is one of Germany's crowning gifts to the electronic dance music world. Now on the heels of his eighth artist album 'Distant Earth', ATB lands in NYC for his debut performance at intimate dance music boite LAVO, a very rare occasion to see a superstar trance giant. On 'Distant Earth', ATB once again delivers an array of fantastic new songs, which transcend the genres of dance, trance and pop with collaborations with renowned artists - the pioneering figures of Armin van Buuren and Dash Berlin to a remarkable team-up with Rea Garvey, who came to fame as lead singer of the international star act Reamonn.

His seminal trance anthem “9pm (Till I Come)” is widely regarded as the first trance song to ever reach the #1 spot on the charts. Thirteen years and 8 studio albums later, ATB is still moving strong and was recently voted as The DJ List's #1 DJ in the world. His masterful productions have progressed to include live instruments and lofty female vocalists. ATB's signature pitched guitar sound, universally recognized harmonies, and emotion-laden melodies seem to effortlessly transcend musical barriers. It's no wonder why his loyal fans and music addicts continuously tout him as one of the finest electronic music acts today. ATB is currently in the middle of his U.S. tour, showcasing his music in major cities like Las Vegas, Miami, and New York.

Thursday, November 17th – A-Trak
A-Trak's highly respected resume includes everything from winning the DMC World DJ Championships in 1997 at age 15, to being the hand-picked tour DJ for Kanye West, to founding buzzworthy music label Fool's Gold. A Montreal native who now calls Brooklyn home, A-Trak effortlessly blends an eclectic mix of genres into highly addictive dance music. He has support from acts like MSTRKRFT, Laidback Luke, Simian Mobile Disco, Boys Noize, Diplo and countless others. He is currently producing music as one-half of disco house superstar group Duck Sauce. Their #1 hit "Barbra Streisand" has become one of the most recognizable disco house songs in recent memory, and be sure to check out their hilarious new video for their newest single: “Big Bad Wolf.”

After topping many critics' 'best of' lists with his debut LP, last years Lucky Shiner, Panda fuses his own production and that of his peers and influences for a delicate and confident DJ-Kicks.

"A DJ mix that's both a pulsing paean to up-to-the-minute club rhythms and a total headphone-dependent feast of electronic sound at its most miniaturized and luscious." -Pitchfork

"Assigned with capping a year of highly memorable DJ-Kicks... Gold Panda has not only risen to the challenge but he's arguably, pushed the bar further." Mixmag (Album of the Month)

Paul Oakenfold presents We Are Planet Perfecto

Volume 01

Release date: Nov 18th 2011
Format: 2CD Jewel case / digital download

“We are Planet Perfecto” is the first in a new compilation series from dance pioneer Paul Oakenfold that reflects the diverse, non genre-conforming sounds that have given him the legendary status he holds today.

Equally comfortable playing glitzy celebrity parties at the Oscars or Milan Fashion Week as he is rocking festival main stages or underground trance raves, Paul Oakenfold’s love for quality melodic music refuses to be pigeon holed to any single area of the scene.

Through his new weekly Planet Perfecto radio show, which is currently syndicated worldwide to 44 stations and attracts 15 million listeners every week, Paul Oakenfold plays a wide spectrum of sounds that reflect his equally diverse tastes.

CD 1 features chart topping commercial hits from the likes of Nicky Romero, Richard Beynon, Planet Perfecto Knights, Kenneth Thomas, Arty and Ce Ce Peniston.

CD 2 takes the listener from the pool party vibe to the dark backroom arena where the energy levels are turned up with productions from Man with No Name, Astrix, Protoculture, Federation, Robert Vadney and Sonic Element.

Both CD’s are packed with Paul Oakenfold’s freshest productions and remixes – including his amazing vocal collaborations with Tamra, his single with Infected Mushroom called “I’m Alive”, the smash hit on Perfecto FluoroFull Moon Party” and his blissful cover of “Sleep” forthcoming on Perfecto.

With a tracklist that features no less than 20 Perfecto & Perfecto Fluoro releases (including the killer goa single from Protest Movement and Paul Webster’s amazing remix of “Southern Sun”) – the album is also a call to arms for the new line up of exciting acts now fronting Paul’s Perfecto Labels.

Société Perrier, The Source for Nightlife and Culture,

Teams with Nervous Records For Events at Cielo

Sociéte Perrier Facebook Twitter

SocietePerrier.com, a recently launched global nightlife website, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Nervous Records — one of the most influential dance music labels currently celebrating its 20th anniversary — in presenting a series of hot New York City events at Cielo throughout the months of November and December. First, on November 8 it’s Crazy P performing live in support of their new studio album, When We On. Then on November 22 Parisian DJ/producer Norman Doray hits the town in support of his new Strictly Rhythm release, Strictly Ibiza To Amsterdam. On December 6, Junior Sanchez and Gina take to Cielo’s decks before Cristian Arango soundtracks a pre-holiday celebration on December 20.

“Our goal at Nervous has always been to add a positive, fun, glamorous, and slightly edgy element to NYC's nightlife culture. Our vehicles toward this goal are music, events and fashion,” said Nervous Records founder and president, Michael Weiss. “Société Perrier is a great new website that captures the energy of nightlife right now, and is exactly the kind of site we feel our events and music should be affiliated with. And, of course, they also add an element of nightlife that has been missing from the Nervous repertoire...mainly refreshment!”

“Nervous Records is one of the finest dance music imprints in the world, and Mike Weiss is one of the most tireless supporters of global club culture,” said Darren Ressler, Société Perrier’s Global Editorial Director. “To be able to present parties with world-class DJs at Cielo — one of the best clubs in the U.S. — along with Nervous Records is incredible. People had better plan on taking the next day off because these parties are going to be amazing!”

Perrier, the first imported bottled water in America, arrived in the U.S. at the height of disco and made its nightlife debut at Studio 54. A long-time supporter of the arts, SociétéPerrier.com launched in July 2011.  With local editors based in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico City, Montreal, Toronto, London, and Moscow, the site’s mission is to explore global nightlife and culture in all its forms and includes sections focused on nightlife, art, music, fashion, travel, and cocktail culture channels — all of the essentials that make for a great night out. By visiting SocietePerrier.com you can check out Dubai's indoor-outdoor superclub Nasimi Beach or get a snapshot of Italy’s best nightlife destinations, as well as profiled visual artists such as Peter Jensen and Lady Aiko, fashion stars like Opening Ceremony and Rachel Comey and hot mixologist Aidan Demarest. SocietePerrier.com is connecting the dots between all forms of nightlife and provides one place to look, listen, learn and live it up.

With connections to the disco era, music has always been an element in what Perrier is all about. The music section of SocietePerrier.com is an important section of the site and is the place to download exclusive tracks/DJ mixes and learn about the DJs and bands making waves on the global nightclub circuit. So while you’re exploring the finest clubs in Tel Aviv or discovering the magic of Stockholm, download an exclusive Sociéte Perrier DJ mix for the next flight out of town.
