Amsterdam Dance Event sets 2014 dates
Organizers expecting further growth in the coming year

The nineteenth edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will take place from the 15th to 19th of October, 2014. Over the last three years the world's leading event for electronic music has almost doubled in size, and ADE's organizers are confident of maintaining above average year on year growth rates for the foreseeable future. At the 2014 edition, the organization expects 350,000 visitors from around the world.

The record breaking 2013 edition of the ADE focused on the 25th anniversary of dance music in the Netherlands, which was marked by a number of special events including the launch of the book Mary Go Wild, an outdoor exhibition, talk shows, special music events and several film screenings. The anniversary celebrations resulted in a wave of national and international media attention and emphasized the leading role that the Netherlands plays in the global dance music industry. In total 2,156 artists from around the world performed in 80 different venues at ADE 2013.

"The success of ADE and the health of the electronic music sector are inextricably linked," says ADE director Richard Zijlma."Dance music is currently in the process of conquering the world, with more and more countries and industries getting involved. Consequently ADE has become a global knowledge and business platform that the world, and the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular, all benefit from. It's not for nothing that dance music is now an important part of the cultural policy of the Dutch government."

About ADE
In the past eighteen years ADE has grown into a globally renowned platform for the international dance and electronic music scene. The festival is the perfect place to spot the latest musical trends and emerging talents, as well as hear the most recent work of both electronic music pioneers and current superstar acts. In addition to the extensive live line-up of ADE Festival, ADE Playground offers music enthusiasts a large and varied daytime program including exhibitions, in store promotions, pop-up stores and film screenings, in locations all over the city center. The business arm of the event (ADE Conference) is recognized as the most important of its kind, presenting a broad range of conferences and networking opportunities that focus on music and technology, VJs & visuals, sustainability, harder dance styles, new talent and the education of students.

The ADE is organized by the Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, an initiative of Buma. Official partner ADE: Samsung.

Scuba Announces Ten Date North American Tour

Whether you know him best as the long-time label boss of Hotflush, his SCB alias, the near mythical SUB:STANCE residency at Berghain, his outspoken Twitter account, or in his current incarnation as a bleeding edge house and techno producer, its clear that Scuba is one of underground dance music’s most chameleonic and pioneering trail blazers.

This Winter, Scuba will headline ten dates across North America, kicking off with a Hot Flush showcase in BPM, before hitting spots including NYC’s Output, DC’s U Street and LA’s Sound among others.

Whether at his live shows, over the course of his extended DJ sets, in back-to-back sessions, or via his acclaimed productions, Scuba straddles a unique sweet-spot between house and techno. For all the industrial darkness associated with Scuba since his emergence, his 2012 album ‘Personality’ with its rubbery techno, anthemic house and euphoric vocals, showed his compulsion to push boundaries and refusal to conform to any genre boxes. Praised by the likes of Pitchfork, BBC, NME, CMJ and Clash, it was confounding yet irresistible, and as such, a pretty good reflection of Scuba himself.

2013 has seen Scuba touring and DJing relentlessly while also bringing his acclaimed live show to festival stages including Primavera Sound, Parklife and Global Gathering. The start of 2014 will see the release of a host of new music from Scuba, no doubt again shattering any conceptions we might have about him as an artist.

Since Scuba formed Hotflush in 2003 it has been a constant touch point for contemporary dance music, providing a home to the likes of Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison, George Fitzgerald, Recondite, Jimmy Edgar and more. 2013 has proven no different, with Paul Woolford’s “Untitled” soundtracking Ibiza throughout the summer and George Fitzgerald, Sepalcure, South London Ordinance and Locked Groove all contributing releases. At BPM Scuba will be joined at his Hotflush showcase by Jimmy Edgar, Agoria, Recondite and special guest Jesse Rose.

Tour dates:
Jan 5 - BPM Festival – Hotflush showcase – Mexico
Jan 31 – Footwork – Toronto
Feb 1 – Igloofest – Montreal
Feb 6 – Mezzanine – San Francisco
Feb 7 – Sound – Los Angeles
Feb 8 – Bang Bang – San Diego
Feb 12 – Electric Owl – Vancouver
Feb 13 – Q Nightclub – Seattle
Feb 14 – Output – NYC
Feb 15 – U Street Music Hall – Washington DC

Get Down With Buku's Brand-New EP
Buku's Down EP Out January 27, 2014 via Pilot Records

Now Available in Full With a Pre-Order via iTunes HERE
For Immediate Release: January 8th, 2014
**All Content Cleared For Posting**
Pittsburgh-based Robert Balotsky aka Buku is back at it again with his upcoming 4-track EP,Down, out on January 27, 2014Down is Buku's third EP release on Pilot Records, the brain child of Luke Hood of UKF. The first single 'Click Clack,' is now available for immediate download with a pre-order of the album on iTunes.
Buku explains how the new EP displays his progression as a producer and artist. "I feel as though I'm taking that Janky and Fooled EP sound and taking it a bit further. Having played a TON over the past year, I've tuned my productions to be both club and headphone friendly. House and techno are really where I 'live' – between that and hip hop, it's the music that I love and am always listening to. I've been fortunate enough to hear some of the best house music over the last year, and I'd be lying if I said I haven't allowed it to influence me!"
Down is ripe with booty-popping bump ‘n’ grind bass tunes showcasing Buku's diverse styles and throwback-hybrid vibes. His influences range from hip hop and trap to techno, house and everything in between, as he further defines his sound in a world that's come to seem too predictable for what fans deserve.
The first tune, 'Down' rounds out the EP, and by round-out, we mean it carves a hole in the ground. Playing off of a standard rhythm, it's the overlaid melody structure that operates more as a tease to the bass dancing throughout. Next up, 'No One Does' has subtle and surprising drop-in beat interludes that play off of one another, sounding as if an old school dance battle were taking place in your headphones. Buku says this one was "inspired by the all the house and techno I've witnessed lately. It's more or less of my own spin on Dirtybird-style house."
'Click Clack' takes the EP in an entirely different direction as it features throwbacks to a deep dubstep rhythm with a maturity of progressive trap. Do Androids Dance expresses their gratitude to the higher-ups noting how the "tune is totally spot on. Swinging mid-tempo banger ish that’s neither trap or twerk (THANK YOU RAVE GOD) and punishing synth work that should bring out the raging aggro in all of us." Listen to a preview of 'Click Clack' HERE.

On top of his new genre-bending original productions, Buku continues to dominate bass music with an impressive array of collaborations and official remixes. Besides releasing a new hip hop collaboration with Bill Niels called, "We'll Meet Again," he also teamed up with the upcoming trap producer Brillz on his TWONK remix album, appropriately dubbed, RETWONKED.
Featuring a solid list of remixers including Bro SafariJack Beats, and Loudpck among other notables from the trap/bass scene – Buku explains how honored he was to be included with such heavyweights on his remix of Brillz and Craze's 'Come Down'. Listen to Buku's Twonk Team Mixtape HERE to get a teaser of a few unreleased tracks off the forthcoming album.

RollingStone Premiere:
The Moog Sound Lab ft. The Black Angels

Today Moog Music partnered with Rolling Stone to premiere the next video in their Moog Sound Lab series with Austin-based quintet The Black Angels (Alex Maas - vocals, bass, organ, drone machine; Robert "Bob" Mustachio of The Warlocks standing in for band member Stephanie Bailey - drums, percussion; Kyle Hunt - keyboards, percussion, bass, guitar; Christian Bland - guitar, drone machine/organ; Jake Garcia - guitar, bass). Following 2010's acclaimed Phosphene Dream, the band stopped by the Moog Sound Lab to perform their new single "Don't Play with Guns" off their new album, Indigo Meadow. This LP marks The Black Angels' fourth full-length studio album, and their most revelatory song collection to date.

Kyle Hunt of the Black Angels says of the Moog Sound Lab experience, "So glad we had time to swing by the Moog Sound Lab to record with nothing but Moog synthesizers!  We doubled some bass lines in the studio with a vintage Moog Prodigy (while recording Indigo Meadow). After playing through the Sub Phatty (in the Moog Sound Lab session) that day I realized that I could pull off some of the doubled bass lines with my left hand while playing the organ parts on my right hand. It was fun to strip away our "go to" guitars, organs and fuzz pedals and see what can happen when you explore analog synthesis with modern stability and patching!"

The Moog Sound Lab is an original content media channel produced by Moog Music that invites artists and bands to perform in the Moog Music factory in Asheville, North Carolina. Armed with an unlimited supply of electronic instruments from Moog, musicians create a unique analog interpretation of their original material. The first half of the 2013 Moog Sound Lab series included Toro y Moi, Washed Out and Zola Jesus.  For behind the scenes photos of Moog Sound Lab session, visit www.facebook.com/moogsoundlab.

Moog Music is currently gearing up for Moogfest 2014, the annual festival created by Moog that celebrates the innovative spirit of its founder, Dr. Bob Moog. The iconic synthesizer manufacturer recently announced that the festival is returning as a 5-day event with a variety of activities, including daytime conferences and nighttime music showcases. Taking place April 23 - 27, 2014 in Asheville, North Carolina, the daytime presenters will include Laurie Anderson, Giorgio Moroder, film scorer/musician Cliff Martinez (Drive Soundtrack)  and other futurist thinkers.

Max Cooper will release his highly anticipated debut album Human on FIELDS on 10 March 2014.  The album represents an explosive leap into the full-length format for an artist who previously preferred to work in miniature, and a stubborn unwillingness to play the usual electronic music game of copy-me-if-you-can.

Adrift is the first single.  Combining the smoky vocal soundings of Belleruche's Kathrin deBoer with some of Max's most delicate percussion and sound design yet, Adrift pushes Cooper's melancholy style to whole new territories of starkly elegant beauty.  With a surprisingly heavy, epic Raffertie remix - and a video that shoots deBoer into space - Adrift is out Dec 16.

The festival that started the worldwide electronic music phenomenon makes its U.S. debut at the birthplace of music festivals on Memorial Day Weekend 2014

BETHEL WOODS, NY – December 05, 2013 – The world’s groundbreaking and longest-running electronic music festival,Mysteryland, today announced ticketing plans for its historic U.S. debut over the 2014 Memorial Day weekend from May 23 to May 26, 2014, at Bethel Woods, New York, the site of the legendary 1969 Woodstock festival.

The location of Mysteryland’s inaugural U.S. event is no coincidence. It is the first music festival to return to the hallowed grounds where Woodstock took place. "Mysteryland has had a tremendous impact on the music world and it is the logical festival to follow in the footsteps of the original ground-breaking music event, Woodstock," said Robert F.X. Sillerman, Chairman and CEO of SFX Entertainment.

“This is more than just a music festival. This is a seminal event that marks the same kind of Revolution in society that Woodstock signified,” said Sillerman, whose SFX acquired ID&T, the producer of Mysterland, earlier this year. “Woodstock changed everything when it took place in 1969 – music, culture, the way we looked at the world. Mysteryland did the same 20 years ago, when it started what is now a tidal wave of electronic music festivals and Electronic Music Culture (EMC), which engages hundreds of millions of people across the planet. SFX is proud to have the honor of producing Mysteryland at the home of Woodstock.”

The festival marks an historic moment for ID&T, the producers of successful global festivals such as Sensation, Tomorrowland, TomorrowWorld and Q-dance.

“Woodstock represented the music of a new generation and cultural tour de force for the changing times, and today Mysteryland brings together the global forces of dance music for the millennial generation’s revolution,” said Duncan Stutterheim, a founder and current executive of ID&T.

Promoters from all over the world have been trying for decades to convince the owners of the Bethel    Woods site, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, to host large-scale festivals in this special location. After    a year of talks, ID&T won approval for the first U.S. edition of Mysteryland, which is also held annually in    the Netherlands and Chile. The 20th edition of Mysteryland in the Netherlands took place in August 2013, selling out all 60,000 tickets.

The first US edition of Mysteryland at this iconic location will be an exclusive gathering. The multi-day festival will offer only 20,000 tickets per day with a variety of tickets, including single-day and weekend tickets ranging from $109 to premiere Mysteryland B’n’B VIP tents for $1,999. On-site camping will be available with limited capacity. Mysteryland will also offer a special ‘Nomadic Journey’ pass which will include travel to all three Mysterylands on three continents (North America, South America, and Europe). Mysteryland USA is a 21+ festival.

The public can sign up now at Mysteryland.us for pre-sale tickets on December 11th. The general on sale date is December 12th at 10AM EST via Mysteryland.us.

Mysteryland will also present its first musical partner, Sunday School, which will host a mini-fest. Originally created in 2006 at the Winter Music Conference, Made Event's Sunday School is the definitive cutting edge techno and house music party and will continue to be so, with three dedicated stages and a cross-section of today’s and tomorrow’s future techno stars.
